Easter Eggers, or wrongly called Americana to confuse people with true Ameraucana, are technically not a breed of chicken, but a hybrid with no true standard. Just like their egg colors, Easter Eggers can come in array of colors! Typically Easter Eggers will have irresistible muffs and/or beards to add to their cuteness factor. Most will have slate or greenish colored legs and pea shaped combs. It is even possible to have a rumpless bird pop up if from Aracauna parents! However, it is normal to have a few birds missing some of these characteristics. Easter Eggers are intelligent birds and an all around friendly bird. Often times they are good mothers and can successfully raise their hatched chicks with no issues. Easter Eggers carry one copy of the blue egg gene (called oocyan) so that leaves your chances open to getting not just blue eggs but light green, pink and on a few sad occasions white and light brown as well.
